RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. (AP) — A north Alabama man is charged with murder in the weekend slaying of his roommate.

Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver tells news outlets that 63-year-old Jerry Ronald Mills is charged in the shooting death of 39-year-old Jason Floyd Baker.

Authorities were called to a rural community near Phil Campbell on Sunday morning. The sheriff says Baker had been killed during an argument over money.

Mills is being held without bond. Court records aren’t available online to show whether he has a lawyer to speak on his behalf.
