Giles County arrests Limestone fugitive
A Limestone County man who had to be tracked by prison dogs after fleeing Limestone deputies in February has been arrested in Giles County, Tennessee.
Jason Clay Mace, 25, of Elkmont, was arrested March 5, and is being held in the Giles County Jail on a charge of criminal impersonation, a Giles County jail official said Monday. Mace also has a hold for court, the official said.
Although bail is set at $750 on the impersonation charge, the hold prevents Mace from being released.
He will face charges in Limestone County after he is clear of charges in Giles County, the official said.
On Feb. 23, Limestone deputies attempted to serve Mace a felony warrant and he fled on foot. Tracking dogs from Limestone Correctional Facility were dispatched to hunt for him but were unable to find him. Mace allegedly left narcotics, a cellphone and a handgun along his escape path.
