LCSO: ‘Booger’ and his father charged with attempting to steal county truck
An Elkmont man recently released on bond after being arrested on burglary charges was arrested again Wednesday with his father for attempting to steal a vehicle belonging to the Limestone County Commission, an official said.
George Morris “Booger” Pylant Jr., 29, faces new charges of breaking and entering a vehicle and attempted first-degree theft. Bail has been set at $5,000. George Morris Pylant, Sr., 49, faces the same charges, but he has been released on $5,000 bond.
On Tuesday, Limestone County deputies and investigators responded to an attempted theft of a county-owned vehicle in the 16000 block of Shaw Road. Investigators found the ignition of the 2006 Ford F-350 had been damaged during an attempt to steal the truck.
Investigators obtained security footage of the incident and immediately recognized the vehicle driven by the suspects as belonging to the senior Pylant. They quickly located the father and son at a local motel, along with the vehicle seen in the security video.
Investigators interviewed the suspects and obtained probable cause to arrest them. The junior Pylant was arrested Nov. 13 in connection to several storage building burglaries in the East Limestone area.
