Arnis Calvin Fisk

The funeral for Arnis Calvin Fisk, 80, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bud White officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens.

Mr. Fisk died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was retired from Sunbeam Bread Company. He was a member of North Side Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Fisk; four sons, Danny Fisk, Jerry Fisk and Keith Fisk, all of Athens; and Wade Fisk of Prospect, Tenn.; one daughter, Janice Adams of Athens; three brothers, Horace Tucker, James Harold Tucker and Jack Tucker, all of Rogersville; one sister, Opal Wiggington of Rogersville; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lance Fisk, Christopher Fisk, Joshua Adams, Zachery Fisk, Brandon Fisk and Michael Martin.



J.W. “Dick” Foster

Funeral for J.W. “Dick” Foster, 64, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McConnell Funeral Home with Cecil Norman officiating. Burial will be in Sandlin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Foster died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Hillside Hospital.

He was born April 29, 1942, in Limestone County to Charlie Foster and Cora Ellen Hall Foster. He worked at the Limestone Farmers Co-op for 38 years and he was a member of Holt Road Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Foster; two sons, James Foster and Tim Foster, both of Athens; three daughters, Angela Kelly, Pamela Foster and Melissa Gilbert, all of Athens; one sister, Pauline Esther Adams of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Colby Kelly, Zachery Kelly, Morgan Gilbert, Abigal Gilbert and Jordan Foster.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Thomas, Barry Foster, Thad Gilbert, Billy Thomas, Nathan Wallace and Ricky Adams.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Ed Foster, David Foster and Jessie Lonzo Foster; one sister, Minnie Adams; and one son, Anthony Foster.

Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to the Betty Sue Foster Fund at Family Security Credit Union, 214 U.S. 31 South, Athens, Ala., 35611.



Marjorie Dora Patterson

The funeral for Marjorie Dora Patterson, 81, of Decatur will be today at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Champion officiating.

The family will receive friends today from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Patterson died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Decatur General Hospital.



Marvin Houston Vinson

The funeral for Marvin Houston Vinson, 79, of Athens, will be at noon today at Spry Funeral Home with Dr. Edwin F. Jenkins officiating. The Athens Police Department Honor Guard will present honors during the service.

Mr. Vinson died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

He was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Limestone County. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, a retired Athens Police officer and a member of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Vinson was preceded in death by a son, Paul Marvin Vinson.

He is survived by his wife, Ava Lee Christopher Vinson; a daughter, Sandra Vinson Rice of Athens; two brothers, Eugene Vinson of Athens and Billy Franklin Vinson of Pensacola, Fla.; three sisters, Rachael McNatt, Donnie Lou Williamson and Judy Jackson, all of Athens; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be members of the Athens Police Department Honor Guard.
