Final shuttle crew visiting Marshall Space Flight Center
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Members of the final space shuttle crew are visiting NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville.
Commander Chris Ferguson and three other astronauts will meet with workers at the installation on Thursday afternoon. Marshall managed the space shuttle’s propulsion systems and ran some science operations on the shuttle.
NASA is cutting hundreds of jobs in Huntsville as the shuttle and other programs wind down. Members of the final Atlantis crew will gather with workers and provide highlights of the final space shuttle mission, which ended July 21 after 13 days.
