Accused burglar was staying in storage area with dog
A man is facing two burglary charges in Limestone County for allegedly stealing more than $8,000 worth of property from two storage buildings while also staying in one of the storage areas with his dog.
On Feb. 14, a neighbor living near the 13000 block of Ridinger Road noticed two men taking items from a rental property and loading them onto a truck and trailer, Limestone County court records show. So, the neighbor telephoned the property owner.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Eric Michael Alban, 31, of 110 Eighth St. NW, Apt. G-201, Arab, who was allegedly staying inside one of the storage buildings with his dog, said Limestone County Sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Young, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office.
“The investigation determined Alban had posted many items from both buildings for sale on a mobile app while he was staying in one of the buildings,” Young said.
Limestone County Sheriff’s Investigator Caleb Durden arrested Alban on two counts of third-degree burglary in connection with the theft, which occurred between Feb. 12 and 14.
Alban is accused of taking the following items valued at a total of $8,840: a V-8 engine, transmission, engine stand, Banshee brand go-kart, Murray lawn mower, Honda four-wheeler, another four-wheeler, yellow go-kart, go-kart engine, toy John Deere tractor, two welding tanks and hoses, Rochester carburetor, Holley carburetor, two motorcycle helmets, half-shell helmet and various other items.
Alban remained in the Limestone County Jail Wednesday afternoon with bail set at $5,000.
