Mobile couple slain in south Mobile home
MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — A Mobile couple found shot to death during an apparent burglary had only recently married and bought their home.
The bodies were found at about 4 a.m. Monday in a south Mobile neighborhood. Police said officers had responded to reports of gunshots.
The victims were identified as Willie Jermaine Allen and Angel Allen, both 25.
There were no immediate arrests.
Police said the couple’s two children, ages 2 and 6, were unharmed and were turned over to relatives.
Selena Hudson, a family friend, spoke of their middle-school romance and their recent purchase of a blue, single-story house in a neighborhood of brick ranch-style homes between Interstates 65 and 10.
“They looked out for everybody,” she told the Press-Register for a story Tuesday. “Just very nice, quiet, churchgoing people.
“They took care of their kids; other people’s kids, too.”
