County approves health class for employees
The Limestone County Commission through an agreement with the Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments will offer employees suffering from chronic illnesses a program to better self-manage their conditions.
Through a $5,000 grant from TARCOG, the county will establish the program Living Well Alabama. Chronic diseases can be diabetes, high blood pressure, depression or one of a variety of illnesses.
A classroom setting will be set up with a coordinator, who will make regular updates on the enrolled employees’ progress in learning self-management. Those over 65 will be referred to agencies or senior services available.
