Chocolate Cupcake Day: Be hero of the office, go get some

(RNN) – Oct. 18 has been designated Chocolate Cupcake Day by someone. Nobody knows exactly who, and who cares?

The real question is why it’s not a national holiday.

Chocolate cupcakes are one of life’s great treasures, and there’s still time for a run to the bakery to bring back a few dozen so all your coworkers will proclaim you hero of the office.

According to NationalDayCalendar.com, Cupcakes can be traced back to 1796, when there was a recipe for “a cake to be baked in small cups” in “American Cookery” by Amelia, Simmons, a great woman.

Go to NationalDayCalendar.com for several great recipes.

They were originally baked in heavy pottery cups – sounds like a messy cleanup. The paper cups are less fussy.

And mark it on your calendars, National Vanilla Cupcake Day is coming up on Nov. 10, which is also a Friday. Perfect.
