Ardmore ends season with victory over West Limestone

Ardmore has blown its share of leads this season, but in the season finale, the Tigers jumped out to an early lead and held on for a 21-6 victory over West Limestone.

The Tigers scored two first-quarter touchdowns, which is all they would need as the Ardmore defense held West Limestone to a single touchdown.

Noah Barnett threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Landon Mason to put the Tigers up, and Chase Lay extended the lead with a 7-yard scoring run on Ardmore’s next possession. Lay finished the game with 65 rushing yards.

West Limestone cut the lead in half on a 1-yard touchdown run by quarterback Gage McKelvey midway through the second quarter. The extra point failed and Ardmore took a 14-6 lead into halftime.

Ardmore put the game away midway through the third on a 72-yard touchdown run.

Nick Martindale led West Limestone with 84 rushing yards on 31 carries.

Ardmore concluded its season with a 4-6 record while West Limestone finished 3-7.
