• Summer program. David’s Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 11273 Stewart Road in Tanner, will host Operation Timothy II Summer Program from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. through Friday, July 28. Cost is $260. Program is for children ages 5-13. More information: 256-232-8035.

• Swamp John’s fundraiser. Lakeview United Methodist Church of Tanner will host a Swamp John’s fundraiser at Lincoln-Bridgeforth Park in Athens from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 29. Fish, shrimp and chicken plates are available for $11 each. The event is sponsored by Lakeview Church United Methodist Men.

• Singing. Lebanon Community Church in Elkmont will host a performance by Replay at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 30. The performance will take place at Lebanon Community Church off Alabama 99. More information: Marian Fowler, 256-777-8324.

• Singing. Truth Baptist Church will host Lance Pitts and Friends 2 p.m. Sunday, July 30, More information: 256-233-2315.

• No services. There will be no worship at Alabama Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America on Sunday, July 30. CPCA church leaders are involved with their state church meeting, which begins Saturday, July 29.

• Potluck lunch. Walnut Grove Community Church at 27600 Walnut Grove Road, Lester, will host a potluck lunch following church services on Sunday, July 30. Sunday school and breakfast will start at 9 a.m. with services featuring Pastor Charlie McAdams from 10-11 a.m.

• Summer gospel. North Athens Church of Christ at 19159 Alabama 127 in Athens will host summer gospel meetings at 7 p.m. nightly Sunday, Aug. 6, through Thursday, Aug. 10. Paul Sanders, minister of Evangelism Southside Church of Christ in Rogersville, will be the guest speaker. Transportation is available for those in need. More information: 256-874-1941.

• Leadership course. Curtis Coleman Center for Religious Studies at Athens State University will continue a free four-part course, “Secrets of the Exceptional Leader,” Aug. 10. Courses will be in the chapel of Founders Hall, second floor. It will cover the following topics: Discovering Your Strengths, Growing Your Confidence, Stabilizing Your Emotions and Anxieties and Secrets of Managing Conflict. More information: 256-233-6508.

• Revival singing. Full Gospel Tabernacle, 17470 Seven Mile Post Road in Athens, will host two services a day featuring Australian Christian artist and evangelist Paul Furlong on Friday, Aug. 11 through Monday, Aug. 14. Service will be 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. daily. More Information: www.revival.com.au.

• Southern gospel singing. Elk River Baptist Church, 10020 Upper Snake Road in Athens, will host Southern gospel music artists Josh and Ashley Franks at 6 p.m. Saturday, August 12. Refreshments served at 4 p.m. More Information: 256-278-0588.

• Scholarship banquet. Davids Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 11273 Stewart Road in Tanner, will host the annual Nella White STEM Scholarship Banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12. Guest speaker is State Rep. Anthony Daniels, D-Huntsville, and Christian comedian Joy Bryant of Birmingham. Singing will be by the Woodruff family. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased by Aug. 6.
