PREP SOFTBALL: Athens’ Stiles lands spot on Super All-State team

Morgan Stiles continues to pile up the accolades.

The recent Athens graduate and Mississippi State signee secured a deserving spot on this year’s Alabama Sports Writers Association’s Super All-State team — announced on Sunday night — following an outstanding senior campaign with the Golden Eagles.

It marks the second straight season Stiles has landed on the honorary squad, which is comprised of the Top 10 players across the state regardless of classification — as selected by the ASWA.

Stiles, who helped Athens win its second Class 6A state title in three years, put up the type of numbers normally reserved for a video game.

She batted .516 with a .627 on-base percentage, 1.180 slugging percentage and 1.808 OPS — to go along with 78 runs, 65 RBIs, 63 hits, 42 walks, 32 stolen bases, 17 homers, 16 doubles and seven triples — en route to netting Class 6A Player of the Year honors. The shortstop also earned first-team recognition as an infielder.
