Alabama Fork CPCA. A historic marker unveiling dedication ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Church Street CPCA, at the intersection of Cross Key Road and Alabama 127. The Rev. Mitchell Walker will be the speaker.

Gospel meeting. West Hobbs Street Church of Christ will host a gospel meeting from Feb. 15-17 at the church, 1602 West Hobbs St., Athens. The meetings will begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 15 and 16 and 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17. There will be three lessons Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. And 1:30 p.m. Speaker will be Gary Atwater, of Thomastown, Georgia.

Men’s Day. St. Mark Primitive Baptist Church will host a Men’s Day event at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at the church, 740 W. Sanderfer Road, Athens. The public is invited.

Valentine tea. St. Mark Primitive Baptist Church will host the annual Mother Board and Valentine Tea at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at the church, 740 W. Sanderfer Road, Athens. Guest speaker is Kristy Humphrey Miller of St. Partley P.B. Church in Huntsville.

Concert. Southern gospel music group Heaven’s Echoes will perform 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Rogersville Church of the Nazarene, 17035 U.S. 72, Rogersville. There is no admission fee, but a love offering will be taken. More information: 256-278-0588.

Women’s conference. Bondage Breakers Ministry will host a women’s conference on overcoming fear from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Athens Public Library, 6155 Jefferson St., Athens. Presentation. Grace Missionary Baptist Church will present “Birth of the Nation,” a Black History Month celebration, 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at the church, 549 W. Elm St., Athens. A fellowship celebration and refreshments will follow. The public is welcome. More information: 256-874-4129.

Swamp John’s fundraiser. Friendship United Methodist Church Women’s Group will host a Swamp John’s fundraiser 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the church, 16479 Lucas Ferry Road, Athens, 35611. Black History Month. David’s Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Tanner will present a Black History Month program at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, with guest speaker Angela Scott, the nursing instructor at Calhoun Community College. Athens Councilman Frank Travis will also perform at skit. The event is at the church at 11273 Stewart Road, Tanner.

Food pantry. Full Gospel Tabernacle Community Christian Church will host a food pantry from 4-7 p.m. every Wednesday at the church, 1470 Seven Mile Post Road, Athens. More information, Joseph Fifer at 256-262-3052.

Preschool registration. New Life Assembly of God is now enrolling students for its child-development program. The program, for children ages six weeks to pre-K, is 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Anyone who recommends someone else is eligible for $25 off the first week’s tuition.
