Alabama police pull 8-month-old outside of hot locked car
SCOTTSBORO, Ala. (AP) — Two Alabama women have been accused of leaving a baby inside a hot car.
News outlets report 46-year-old Angela Marie Dobbins and 18-year-old Anita Jean Dobbins were charged Monday with reckless endangerment.
Scottsboro Police Chief Ralph Dawe says police found an 8-month-old baby inside a locked car in a Walmart parking lot. The child had been inside the car for about 15 minutes. The outside temperature was about 89 degrees.
Officers broke a window to remove the child, who was treated at the scene and was reportedly doing well.
Angela Dobinns is the child’s grandmother and Anita Dobbins is the child’s aunt.
The Department of Human Resources is investigating.
