Athens Bible sweeps volleyball trimatch

Athens Bible swept a trimatch against Rogers and Brooks Monday, defeating the Pirates in a three-set slugfest while sweeping Brooks in two sets.

The match against Rogers was a bit odd, as the Trojans dominated the two sets they won, but surprisingly dropped the second set. ABS won the first set 25-11 before losing the second set 23-25. However, the Trojans recovered to win the tie-breaking third set 15-6.

The second match against Brooks was more straightforward, as the Trojans won it in two sets, winning the first set 25-15 before ending the match by winning 25-21 in the second set.

Mackenzie Davis had 38 assists and 16 kills, while Izzy Todd had 15 kills and Kyndal Barksdale added 11 kills.

Josie Duke and Alyssa Thomas combined for eight kills, while Katie Brackeen had 18 digs and Jantzen Flatt had 10 digs and five aces.

Athens Bible improved to 24-6 on the season.
