Alabama fishing rodeo claims world record
DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. (AP) — The Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo is claiming the world record for fishing rodeo participation.
The tournament wrapped up just after 5 p.m. Sunday. That’s when the Guinness World Records began to count the number of participants in the tournament.
The fishing tournament sold over 3,200 tickets. If those tickets are returned by the fishermen, they’ll pass the previous number by about 1,000.
The 2010 rodeo had to be cancelled after the Gulf oil spill.
