The Clements Colts raced to the finish in the State Final on Friday but unfortunately won’t be brining home a championship win from Birmingham.

Trinity Presbysterian beat the Colts 52-48 in the end.

It was a hard fought game with Clements leading most of the way. They came out strong in the first quarter with 12 points to Trinity’s 7. The second quarter was little closer with Trinity scoring 16 and Clements scoring 14 meaning the Colts went into halftime up 26-23.

The Clements girls looked like they were going to pull away at the end of the third after scoring 11 and holding Trinity to 6 to bring the score to 37-29 with the Colts still ahead.

But by the fourth quarter Clements would fall despite scoring 11 while Trinity would have their best scoring quarter yet with 23 points.

The Colts loss in the final quarter doesn’t mean the team comes home with nothing. They’re still the first Limestone team to make it to the state final and bring home a red map since Tanner did in 2017.
