BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Deputy coroner Chris Moore says a man found shot to death in the driveway of a northeast Jefferson County home has been identified as 27-year-old Jimmy Brandon Edwards.
He died of a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a person down just before 7 a.m. Friday on Second Way Northwest near Center Point.
Moore says it appeared Edwards had been running from his assailant because one of his shoes was in the driveway of a home more than a block from where his body was found.
It was unclear Sunday if police had any suspect identified.
