BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — A brazen daylight shooting on a Birmingham street left one man dead and his brother wounded.
It was the city’s first homicide of 2009.
Detectives said a gunman opened fire on the siblings just after 12 noon Monday at the corners of First Ave. South and Goldwire St.
A 27-year-old suspect was arrested a few hours later. Police said charges are pending.
Police identified the deceased man as 34-year-old Cornelius Mosley. The second victim was not named.
Authorities said the shooter was stabbed last week. Detectives are trying to determine if Monday’s shooting is connected to the stabbing.
