Dr. and Mrs. Robert Sandlin of Athens announce the upcoming wedding of their daughter, Dr. Megan Michelle Sandlin of Birmingham, to Dr. Nicholas Jonathan Kentros of Birmingham, son of Drs. Donna and Jonathan Kentros.

The bride elect is the granddaughter of Helen Sandlin of Athens and the late Littleton Sandlin, and Barbara Burmester of Cullman.

She is a 2008 graduate of Athens High School and a 2012 graduate of Birmingham-Southern College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. She earned her doctorate from the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Optometry in 2016 and currently practices in Pelham.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Louise Ward of Birmingham and the late Levarn Ward, and Dr. and Mrs. George Kentros of Birmingham.

He is a 2007 graduate of The Altamont School in Birmingham and a 2011 graduate of the University of Alabama, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. He earned his doctorate from UAB School of Dentistry in 2016 and is currently completing a residency at UAB Hospital.

The wedding is planned for May 20 at the Omni Royal Orleans in New Orleans.
