BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — A repeat runaway convict who had been on the run for nearly a month has been caught in Birmingham.

Officers forced their way into an apartment and apprehended Anthony.

This isn’t the first time Anthony has fled. Boston.com reported that in 2013, Anthony escaped from a work center in Alabama and was caught a week later at his girlfriend’s home in Massachusetts.

Anthony was sentenced in 2008 and is serving a 50-year sentence on an assault conviction. He now faces multiple charges, including escape.

Authorities charged 36-year-old Kim Saunders with hindering the apprehension of an escapee. She was with Anthony at the time of his arrest.
