Three arrested in Ardmore drug bust

A drug bust Wednesday in Ardmore led to the arrest of three people and the seizure of a half-ounce of methamphetamine, other drugs and a weapon, an official said.

Arrested in the bust was Alec Wade Tyler Acklin, 28, of Ardmore, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine with intent to distribute, second-degree illegal possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, said Deputy Stephen Young, public information officer for the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office. Acklin remained in the Limestone County Jail Wednesday with bail set at $6,000.

Kaitlan Hale, 23, and Taylor Lide, 18, both of Ardmore, were also arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia. They remained in the Limestone County Jail Wednesday with bail set at $1,000 each.

About 8:30 Wednesday morning, Limestone County sheriff’s narcotics investigators, along with members of the Ardmore Police Department and the Northeast Alabama Drug Task Force, served a search warrant at a residence in the 26000 block of Second Street. In addition to the meth, investigators seized drug paraphernalia, a needle loaded with meth, marijuana and a handgun.
