Support mental health with BBQ & Blues

Tickets are on sale now for the third annual BBQ & Blues, just one of the many ways Limestone Countians can support mental health services in the area.
The fundraiser will be held 6–8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Cross-Eyed Owl Brewing Company in downtown Decatur. There will be live music from The Limestoners, a silent auction and dinner from Whitt’s BBQ — all to benefit the Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama.
“(The fundraiser’s) sole purpose is to generate revenue to be used by the Mental Health Center for outpatient services,” MHCNCA Development Officer Bill Giguere said.
Those services include outpatient counseling for children and adults, day treatment programs for adults, public school counselors and more. The Mental Health Center has outpatient mental health clinics in Lawrence, Limestone and Morgan counties.
Tickets can be purchased online at https://bit.ly/BBQBlues2019 or at the door for $30 each. Those who can’t make it to BBQ & Blues can still show their support by purchasing an event sponsorship for $500, a major sponsorship for $1,000 or a monetary donation of any value at the same site.
“We think it’s going to be a lot of fun and an easy way to support mental health,” Giguere said.
