A Cullman man accused of stealing his father’s $10,000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle is facing a felony theft charge, according to Athens police.
On May 4, Wesley Shane Ward, 40, of 2220 Cullman County Road 222, took the motorcycle from U.S. 72 near Lindsay Lane, Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said. The bike was found two days later at the home of Ward’s mother in Cullman, Johnson said.
On May 9, Investigator Jarrod Smith obtained a warrant for Ward’s arrest on a charge of first-degree theft. He was arrested May 31, booked at Athens Police Department and transferred to the Limestone County Jail, Johnson said.
Ward remained at the jail Monday afternoon with bail set at $5,000.
