Seven people were arrested on drug charges Thursday after authorities found materials used for making crystal methamphetamine at a mobile home.

Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely said narcotics officers with the county and city of Athens received a tip about a possible active meth lab in the residence, located at 10272 U.S. 72, lot 4.

When officers arrived at the residence, Blakely said, several people were standing outside the trailer, but ran back inside. The occupants, however, agreed to a search of the premises.

The sheriff said there were several ingredients for methamphetamine found, including batteries and a funnel containing ephedrine residue. Officers also found a small amount of marijuana and carisoprodol pills, also known as Somas.

Those arrested included:

• Crystal Kay Gunter, 37, charged with second-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, second-degree illegal possession of marijuana and illegal possession of a controlled substance; and

• Andrew Darmer, 27, of Elkmont; Jason Brunning, 34, of Henderson, Tenn.; Michael Scott Holland, 32, of McEwen, Tenn.; Stacy Renee Strong, 36, of Piney Chapel Trailer Park, Athens; Donna Jackson, 55, of Petersburg, Tenn.; and William Christopher Garner, 32, of Athens. They are all charged with second-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance.

Gunter, whose bond was set at $31,000, was still in the Limestone County Jail Friday afternoon. Bonds for Darmer, Holland, Strong, Jackson, Brunning and Garner were set at $25,000.

Only Strong and Garner had bonded out as of Friday.
