The headquarters at 116 N. Jefferson St. across from LucVici’s on the Courthouse Square is a place for the public to pick up signs and literature for their favorite Republican local and statewide candidates.

Free food and soft drinks were provided and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with the candidates.

Local Republican candidates present at the event were state Sen. Arthur Orr, District 3; state Rep. Micky Hammon, District 4; state Rep. Mac McCutcheon, District 25; Athens Mayor Dan Williams, candidate for state House, District 5; Mo Brooks, candidate for U. S. House, District 5; Bill Holtzclaw, candidate for state Senate, District 2; Bryan C. T. Jones, candidate for Limestone District Attorney; and Stanley Menefee, candidate for County Commission Chairman.

Limestone GOP Chairman Jim Burden said attendees expressed a lot of interest in the Republican candidates and the Nov. 2 general election. “One hundred and thirty six years is long enough for the Democrats to control our state Senate and House,” he said. “We can do better for the people of Alabama.”
