A multiagency investigation led to the arrest Tuesday of a Huntsville man on drug trafficking charges, a Huntsville police official said.

Lt. Stacy Bates with the Huntsville Police Department said the arrest of 22-year-old Larry Love Humphrey Jr. was the result of a monthlong investigation into “drugs being trafficked into Huntsville and the surrounding areas,” Bates said.

With assistance from the Limestone County Drug Task Force, Madison-Morgan County HIDTA Drug Task Force and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Huntsville Police executed search warrants Tuesday at homes on Sugar Plum Lane in Madison and Skyline Drive in Huntsville. Bates said agents recovered five handguns, an AR-15 assault rifle, $2,685 in cash and 678 oxycodone pills. The pills have a street value of $20,000.

Humphrey remained in the Madison County Jail Thursday morning on $100,000 bond.

Bates said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
