An Athens man is facing a robbery charge for allegedly driving the getaway car in a crime in which three others have been charged, an official said.
Justin Scott Hardaway, 34, of 18837 N. Jefferson St., was arrested Tuesday on a charge of first-degree robbery, records show.
Deputy Stephen Young, public information officer for the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies responded to a burglary in progress about 6 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, in the 22000 block of Piney Chapel Road. The victim was home at the time and told investigators two women and two men were involved.
Young said the victim identified one of the women as 29-year-old Rikki Alisha Perry, of 24230 Slate Road, Elkmont, whom he met online. The victim had scheduled a date with Perry Tuesday night but did not show. Perry and the other suspects came to the victim’s house later while he slept.
“He awoke to the suspects stealing from him and he attempted to stop them, but they presented a tire iron and the victim retreated,” Young said.
Investigators later found three of the suspects in the 24000 block of Elkton Road. They also recovered some of the victim’s belongings. Along with Perry, investigators arrested Bobby Gerald Peck Jr., 26, and Elizabeth Anne Case, 34, both of 20434 Elkton Road, on one count of first-degree robbery.
Investigators later found Hardaway, who is accused of driving the getaway car, Young said.
