How many years have you been in education? This is my 30th year in the classroom.

How many are with Limestone County Schools? I have been in the Limestone County School system for 30 years.

What makes you proud to be an educator? What makes me the most proud is that I promote culture and climate in my classroom that encourages my students to be more comfortable with their learning. I may not see results immediately, but I know that I did my best to tend to them emotionally and intellectually for a season. Plant the seeds even if you don’t get to see them grow.

What has your experience in the education field taught you? My experience in education has taught me that I must love the kids. I must be kind, compassionate, caring, and adaptable to meet their needs. I am blessed to see the simple joys of life through the eyes of a child every day.

What do you enjoy most about working for Limestone County Schools? I enjoy the family I have created within this school system. I consider all of us to be in this together. We work hard each day to meet the needs of our students! We are also there to love, guide, and support each other on a daily basis.

How do your students inspire you? My students inspire me with their resilience. There are so many times when we have no idea the obstacles they are facing. Their perseverance amazes me daily.

What are your hobbies? My favorite hobbies are thrifting and gardening. I also love to spend time with my family!
