Cast Products Inc. plans $6.7 million expansion, adding jobs to Limestone County

A legacy cast aluminum component manufacturer announced Feb. 28, a major expansion at its Limestone County facility.
Cast Products Inc. has been in business since 1979 in Athens. The company is planning a $6.7 million expansion to add a 30,000-square-foot facility and an automated aluminum foundry. This expansion will add 14 jobs and help retain more than 200 current employees.
CPI Chief Operating Officer Colby Medlen said the investment will keep the company competitive.
“The new facility and foundry will allow us to meet current and future demand,” said Medlen. “We will continue to utilize the latest technology to elevate our business to the forefront of the metal casting industry.”
According to Medlen, CPI is an industry leader in designing, engineering and manufacturing aluminum castings and ships products across the United States and exports internationally.
CPI Chief Financial Officer Colin McMurry said this announcement will double CPI’s capacity and further expand its manufacturing capabilities.
“This expansion will allow us to pursue new industries and opportunities that will create job growth across all facets of our company,” said McMurry. “Our expansion is a testament to the hard work of our employees, and we are excited for the opportunity to continue that growth here in Limestone County.”
Community leaders welcomed the expansion.
“I congratulate Cast Products, Inc. on their remarkable $6.7 million expansion,” said Limestone County Economic Development Association president and CEO Bethany Shockney. “This investment demonstrates their commitment to growth and underscores the thriving business environment here in Athens and Limestone County.”
“The expansion of an existing business speaks to the economic health of our city,” said Athens Mayor Ronnie Marks. “The city of Athens will benefit from Cast Products expanding its footprint in our community through investment and job creation.”
“We are excited to learn of this investment being made by Cast Products in Athens,” said Limestone County Commission Chairman Collin Daly. “The expansion is a testament to our great county’s economic vitality.”
