According to the indictment, Moore is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with a female victim who was “physically helpless or mentally incapacitated.” The case was investigated by the Athens Police Department.

Police Chief Floyd Johnson said the victim and Moore were known to each other. He added the victim made the report in December.

“They had been drinking and she woke up and believed she had been sexually assaulted,” the chief said.

A preliminary hearing has not been set in the case.
