An Athens attorney has been arrested and charged with a pair of crimes, court records show.

John Totten, a defense attorney, was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 1, on charges of obstructing government operations and tampering with a witness.

Totten pled not guilty to those charges on Tuesday, Dec. 14. An arraignment has been set for Jan. 12.
