GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) — An Alabama man has filed several ethics complaints about changes one sheriff made to his reserve unit.
The Gadsden Times reported that Harvey Martin Jr. of the Attal Coalition is upset with changes Etowah County Sheriff Jonathan Horton made in the reserve unit after the 2018 election.
Horton defeated former Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
The complaint says some people who supported Entrekin have been fired or asked to resign from the reserve unit. Martin is one of those removed from the unpaid jobs.
Horton says some people are clinging to the past. He said many people who supported Entrekin still work in his office. But he says he will only keep people in the reserve unit that he wants.
Horton says he’s turned the matter over to his attorney.
