Hours: Athens, Elkmont, East Limestone, Tanner, Owens Senior Centers are open 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Goodsprings Senior Center is open 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Senior menus:

Monday: Chopped Steak/Gravy, Country Potatoes, California Vegetable Blend, Pineapple Tidbits, Whole Grain White Roll, Fig Bar, Milk and Margarine.

Tuesday: Apple Juice, BBQ Chicken Breast, Ranch Beans, Country Corn, Texas Toast, Cherry Fruited Gelatin, milk and margarine.

Wednesday: Orange Juice, Chili with Beef and Beans, Buttered Rice, Sliced Peaches, Saltine Crackers, Yellow Cake, Milk and Margarine.

Thursday: Smoked Sausage/Bun, Scalloped Potatoes, Green Beans/Red Peppers, Fresh Fruit, Strawberry Swirl Pudding, Milk/Chocolate Milk Diced Onions, Mustard/Ketchup/Mayonnaise.

Limestone County Council on Aging BBQ Chicken Fundraiser: On Friday, Oct. 20 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at the Limestone Sheriff’s Rodeo Arena, the Limestone County Council on Aging will host their BBQ chicken fundraiser consisting of a menu of half chicken, baked beans, potato salad, slaw and roll. Dine in, carry out and delivery in Athens are available with a minimum of 6 orders. Presale only — $15. For tickets or more information, call (256)-233-6412. Deadline for tickets is Oct. 18.

The Administrative office at 503 S. Jefferson St. is open, hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Transportation is now available for doctor’s appointments and rides to the senior centers. Call in advance to schedule.

Shopping trips are now running. The 1st Tuesday of each month is to Wal-Mart, other Tuesdays it goes to other grocery stores and Dollar General. Please call in advance to schedule.

Friday, Oct. 20, is the Make A Way event from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. as well as game night from 3-7 p.m.
