Selling out sweets: Athens Chocolate Walk tickets to sell in three waves

Last year, the 300 tickets for the 2023 Chocolate Walk, hosted by Athens Main Street, sold out in less than five minutes. Main Street’s director, Tere Richardson told The News Courier that close to 50 percent of the tickets were purchased from out of town.
The 11th annual walk will take place on Feb. 3, 2024, from 12-5 p.m., and in 2024, Athens Main Street is spreading the sale of the available 350 tickets across three days and times:
- Thursday, Jan. 18, at 12 p.m.
- Friday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Jan. 20 at 9 a.m.
Tickets are available exclusively online through Eventbrite, and they are limited to 5 tickets per person at $10 (plus processing fees) each. On Feb. 3, ticket holders will report to the Athens Main Street office to receive their tickets, map and bags to collect chocolate from participating shops.
Anyone visiting participating merchants can enjoy special deals for the occasion and enter their names into the running to win $500 “love bucks” with or without a ticket.
“This event is perfect for couples, families, and groups,” said Richardson. “Whether you are a local or it’s your first time in downtown Athens, there will be something new and amazing to see and experience.”
