Athens, Ala. – The Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce its upcoming event, County Wide Job Shadowing Day, dedicated to providing high school students with an immersive experience in the professional world. This initiative is set to take place on Tuesday, Feb. 27, bringing together local businesses and eager students. The News-Courier will also take part, hosting two students that day.
Job Shadowing Day is a collaborative effort between the Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce and various businesses in the community. This event aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications, offering students a unique opportunity to explore diverse career paths.
Participating businesses will open their doors to high school students, allowing them to shadow professionals in various fields. Through this hands-on experience, students will gain valuable insights, witness day-to-day operations, and engage with industry experts, ultimately helping them make informed decisions about their future careers.
“We are thrilled to facilitate this event that connects our local businesses with the bright young minds of our community. Job Shadowing Day is a chance for students to discover their passions, learn about different industries, and envision the possibilities that lie ahead,” said Pammie Jimmar, president of the Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce.
