James Paul Bumgardner

The funeral for James Paul Bumgardner, 88, of Athens will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Brother Joe Teal officiating and Neal Johnson giving the eulogy. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bumgardner died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at his residence. He was born May 18, 1919, in Water Valley, Miss., to George Thomas and Bulah Mills Bumgardner. He was a civil service employee for 36 years, retiring Feb. 29, 1980, from the Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Athens; the Huntsville Gem and Mineral Society, where he was a past show chairman; and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He had many interests, including flying his own plane, photography, horses, genealogy and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Claire Bumgardner; one daughter, Bonnie Bumgardner White and husband Harrison of Sylacauga; one son, Dr. David Paul Bumgardner of Pennsdale, Pa.; six grandchildren, Christopher Bumgardner and wife Amanda of Davis, Calif., Joshua Bumgardner of Muincy, Pa., Sara Bumgardner of Raleigh, N.C., Shelly Lopresti and husband Brett of Chapel Hill, Tenn., Lisa Comfort and husband Joshua of Pell City and Stewart White of Birmingham; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille Downer of Oxford, Miss., and Dorris Vaughn of Mount Olive, Miss.



Irene Lehr Cheesman

Irene Lehr Cheesman, 74, of Ocala, Fla., died Friday, May 25, 2007, in Ocala. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home will announce arrangements.



Lena Margaret Shelton

The funeral for Lena Margaret Shelton, 84, of Toney will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Brother David Sain officiating. Burial will be in Blanche Cemetery in Blanche, Tenn.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Shelton died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.



Benjamin ‘Ben’ Tinnon

The funeral for Benjamin “Ben” Tinnon, 33, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Casey Harbin and Dr. Rick Craft officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Tinnon died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital.

He was born Nov. 30, 1973, to Dennis Ezell Tinnon and Patricia Joan Williams Tinnon in Montgomery. He worked as a line operator for a local plastic company. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Brooks; and his grandfather, Mack Lloyd Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda Patterson Tinnon of Athens; two sons, Josh Patterson and Tyler J. Tinnon, both of Athens; his father, Dennis Tinnon of Athens; his grandparents, Cora Belle Williams, and Robert Allen and Ruby Jean Tinnon, all of Athens.

Pallbearers will be Sonny Meadows, Joey Woolridge, Tony Routh and Justin Harvey.
