Emmett D. Ferguson

The funeral for Emmett D. “Ferg” Ferguson, 80, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 at McConnell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ferguson died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital.



Brenda Kay Webb Ivey

The funeral for Brenda Kay Webb Ivey, 60, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with James Bridges officiating. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.

Mrs. Ivey died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, in Decatur General Hospital.

Born July 16, 1946, in Athens to Uyless Raymond Webb and Madge Beatrice Hargrove Webb, she was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Kerry Webb.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Ivy of Athens; two daughters, Kim Ivey and Michelle Ivey Crouch and husband Keith, all of Athens; grandchildren Kerry Crouch, Mikayla Crouch and Colton Crouch, all of Athens; his mother, Madge Webb of Athens; and one brother, Michael Webb of Athens.

Family and friends will be pallbearers.



Charles Wayne Patterson

The funeral for Charles Wayne Patterson, 69, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Jenkins of First Baptist Church of Decatur officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Patterson died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at his residence.

Mr. Patterson was a 20-plus-year member, past president and member of the board of directors of the Limestone County Cattlemen’s Association. Recently, Mr. Patterson was the named honoree of the 2007 Annual Scholarship granted by the Limestone County Cattlemen’s Association, which promotes agriculture to youth. He was also past president and founding member of the North Alabama Polled Hereford Association. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur, where he served as an usher and greeter. Mr. Patterson had retired from Monsanto in Decatur after more than 38 years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his spouse, Betty Hester Patterson of Athens; two daughters, Melanie Bodiford of Athens and Kristie LaHue of Birmingham; and four grandchildren, Emmie, Chapman and Sophie Bodiford of Athens and Molly LaHue of Birmingham.

Mr. Patterson had suffered over a five-year battle with cancer and left an indelible mark on all those who watched him fight his disease. The family advises that memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County, The American Cancer Society or First Baptist Church in Decatur.
