Edwina D. Cooper

The funeral for Edwina D. Cooper, 70, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Joe Olson officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. in Cooper Cemetery.

Mrs. Cooper died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital.

She was born March 27, 1937, in Gallitan, Tenn. She was a member of the Valley View Church of Christ in Athens.

She is survived by one daughter, Dora Massey and husband Brad of Athens; one son, James D. Cooper II of Athens; one sister, Francis Simpson of Illinois; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Garner, James Blakely, Brandon Massey, Corelli Murrah, and William Simpson.



Steven Wayne Osborne

Memorial visitation services for Steven Wayne Osborne, 55, of Athens will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Main Street Church of Christ in Ardmore, Tenn., with Roger Jackson officiating.

Mr. Osborne died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at his residence.



Edward Vernon Sexton

Edward Vernon Sexton, 82, of Athens died Monday, June 25, 2007, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by McConnell Funeral Home.



Margaret R. Southard

The graveside service for Margaret R. Southard, 84, of Rogersville will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Athens City Cemetery with Dusty McLemore officiating and special music by Dan Havely.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Rogersville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ken Davis, Jason Camp, Allen Camp, Joe Warren, Pearson Warren, Bud Simmons, Franklin Simmons, and Davis Simmons.

Mrs. Southard died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at her residence.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Athens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Blaine and Chloe Roath; and one brother, Don Roath.

Mrs. Southard is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lesly David Southard; one sister-in-law, Ethel Simmons of Athens; one niece, Laura Warren and husband Joe of Athens; two nephews, Bud Simmons and wife Melody of Athens, and John Simmons of Florida; one great-niece, Laura Simmons; four great-nephews, Joseph Warren, Pearson Warren, Franklin Simmons and Davis Simmons; and special companions and caregivers, Jackie Camp and husband Jason of Lexington, Ken Davis and wife Tonya of Muscle Shoals, Dianne Smith, Becky Little and Bob Freeman, all of Rogersville.

Auline Clem Thompson

Auline Clem Thompson, 78, of Athens died Monday, June 25, 2007, at her residence.

Arrangements will be announced by Spry Funeral Home.



Bradford Townsend

The funeral for Bradford Townsend, 81, of Pulaski, Tenn., will be at 3 p.m. today at Carr-Erwin Funeral Home with Toby Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.

Mr. Townsend died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at NHC.



Barry Lane Young III

The funeral for Barry Lane Young III, 18, of Toney will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Robin Beets officiating. Burial will be in Hastings Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Young died Sunday, June 24, 2007, in Ardmore.
