The News Courier is an award-winning daily newspaper published in Athens, Alabama, covering Limestone County.

Today’s News Courier was created in 1969, when The Alabama Courier (founded 1892) and the Limestone Democrat (founded 1891) were acquired by Robert Bryan and merged. The combined paper was known in the 1980s as The Athens LC News Courier.

The News Courier publishes Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday, and is delivered by mail.

In addition to our newspaper, The News Courier also produces a number of niche publications, including Limestone Life, Faith & Family, Athens-Limestone Senior Scene, Home for the Holidays, Class of… and Blitz. The News Courier also publishes The Best Bargain weekly.
