Wedding: McElyea-Corum

Leigh Carl McElyea of Athens and George Tyler Corum of Florence were married in a 5 p.m. ceremony May 26 at Madelyn’s in the Grove with Tom Corum, father of the groom, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Roger and Karen McElyea of Athens. She is the granddaughter of Margaret McElyea of Athens and the late Carl McElyea and the late George and Magdalene Putman.

The groom is the son of Tom and Tracy Corum of Athens. He is the grandson of Tom and Mary Corum of Athens, Sandra Angel and Cecil Angel, both of Florence.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Roger McElyea.

Bridal attendants were Holly Brown, Danielle Stamps Corum, Kirstie Corum, Leslie Graves, Emily Griffith, Alicia Hood, Laurie Holder, Lyndsie McClure, Bethany Oliver, Lauren Polk, Whitney Salter, Melissa Sparks, Leigh Watwood and Kristi Whitlock.

The flower girl was Tess Hicks.

Thomas Corum, brother of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Caleb Bogus, Josh Bogus, Blake Burns, Joe Elliott Carroll, Braley Chambers, Joseph Chambers, Caleb Graham, Parker Hendricks, Ryan Hodgin, Jordan Jaggers, Jess McElyea, Kevin Ogle and Benjamin Ray.

The ringbearer was Benjamin Blakely.

Music was provided by Plato Jones.

The guest register was Jessica Bridges and Maggie Cushing.

A reception followed the ceremony at Madelyn’s in the Grove.

After a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple returned home to Athens.
