Kelsey Jean Sweeney of Tallahassee, Fla., and Michael Valentine Ress of Athens were married in a 4  p.m. ceremony Sept. 28 in Positano, Italy at Villa Oliviera with Raffaelle as the celebrant.

The bride is the daughter of William and Lana Sweeney of Tallahassee. Her grandparents are Bill and Jean Sweeney of Miles City, Mont., and Fred and Ivy Gali of Lead, S.D.

The groom is the son of Thomas Valentine and Roberta Thorn Ress of Athens. His grandparents are Marieta Ress of Tell City, Ind. and Yvetta Thorn Capps of Custer, Ky., and the late Charles Robert Thorn, Raymond Capps and John V. Ress.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Honorary attendants were Bill and Conor Sweeney, brothers of the bride, Sara Ress Whittenberg, sister of the groom, and Charley Ava Wittenberg, niece of the groom.

Music was performed by a local guitarist.

The bride, groom and attendants spent the entire week at Villa Oliviero on the Amalfi Coast and surrounding areas.

The bride and groom are both captains in the U.S. Air Force. After a tour through Italy with stops in Assissi, Sienna, and San Gimignano, Kelsey returned to her station at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, and Michael returned to Aviano Air Force Base in Italy.
