Jessica Diana Black of Athens and Matthew Lynn Magnusson of Athens, were married in a 5 p.m. ceremony Dec. 12 at First United Methodist Church of Athens with the Rev. Mary Magnusson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Black of Athens. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Black, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sanders, all of Athens.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronny Magnusson Sr. of Athens. His grandparents are Wilma Miller of Ryland, the late Ronald Miller Sr., and the late Julius and Ila Magnusson.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Maid of honor was Sara Glenn Black. Bridal attendants were Dru King, Alison Burrell, Rachel Higginbotham, Paige Bridges, and Laney Savage.

Ronny Magnusson Sr., served as best man. Groomsmen were Ronny Magnusson Jr., Zachary Magnusson, Joshua Magnusson, Lee Bridges, and Casey Cook. Ushers were Austin Sanders and Matthew Sanders.

The ringbearer was Elijah Magnusson. Music was provided by Carolyn King. The guest register was kept by Lauren Hose. A reception followed the ceremony at Valley Event Center. Wedding directors were Mamie Neese and Meredith Belew.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica the couple returned home to Athens.
