Spot the History
Come to the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives through Jan. 8 and play “Spot the History.” Children ages 6 to 12 play for a chance to win one of four $50 U.S. Savings Bonds. Pick up a “Spot the History” sheet when you enter the museum.
Indoor yard sale
AMVETS-Mims Russell Post 21 is currently reserving tables for an indoor yard sale January 22-23. Anyone interested in selling unwanted items is encouraged to arrive early; tables are first come, first serve, $10 each. Concessions will be available both days. Rain or shine. Coffee Call
Jerry Hill will sponsor Coffee Call from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, at the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives. Call the museum at 256-771-7578.
Charity breakfast
Bethel, Tenn., Masonic Lodge No. 194 F&AM will serve a buffet breakfast from 7-9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1. Proceeds go to charity.

Yale Spizzwinks(?)
The Yale Spizzwinks(?) will present a community concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church. Proceeds allow the Spizzwinks(?) to tour. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at First Presbyterian Church or at the door. Contact is Margaret Ellen Jackson at 256-431-4898.

Vietnam Vets Holiday Dinner
Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 511, will hold its holiday dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the chapter building located on the corner of Lucas Ferry Road and West Elm Street in Athens. All Vietnam veterans, Vietnam Era veterans, family and friends are invited. Bring your favorite side dish and dessert. The chapter will provide ham and turkey.

• AHS Class of ’56 Reunion. The Athens High School Class of 1956 and friends will meet at 11 a.m., Wednesday for a Dutch treat lunch at Applebee’s on U.S. 72 East at I-65 exit. Contact is Betty Richardson at 256-232-5413.
