Several stars from the 1985 hit film “Back to the Future” will hold an autograph session from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shoals Chamber of Commerce at 20 Hightower Place in Florence.

The actors are in Florence for the George Lindsey University of North Alabama Film Festival.

Actors James Tolkan and Claudia Wells will be available for the entirety of the session, and actor Lea Thompson will be available from 9 to 10:15 a.m.

Writer/producer Bob Gale will hold a separate signing from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday at the House of Heroes comic store on E. Mobile Street in downtown Florence.

The autograph sessions are part of film festival, which is celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Back to the Future.” The celebration will include a reunion of several of the film’s stars — Gale, Thompson, Tolkan and Wells — which will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the historic Shoals Theatre. The “Back to the Future” celebration will also include four public appearances of an exact working replica of the famous DeLorean time machine, complete with flux capacitor and functional circuit displays. The DeLorean will make the following appearances at the film festival: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Zodiac Theatre; 5-6 p.m. Friday, Shoals Theatre; 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Zodiac Theatre; 6-7 p.m. Saturday, UNA Communications Building parking lot

The George Lindsey UNA Film Festival is one of the few film festivals hosted by a university. The event was founded in 1998 in part by UNA alumnus and celebrated actor and entertainer George Lindsey. Lindsey’s own film career has included several roles, including the character Goober Pyle on “The Andy Griffith Show.”
