Vicki Kennedy to address high school commencement

HARWICH, Mass. (AP) — When officers of Harwich High School’s Class of 2010 sent a letter to Victoria Reggie Kennedy asking her to speak at their commencement, they never even expected a reply.
Not only did the late Sen. Edward Kennedy’s widow reply, but she agreed.
Kennedy is scheduled to speak to the Cape Cod high school’s 95 graduates on June 13.
Class President Meredith Mason tells the Cape Cod Times that the entire class is “really excited.”
Mason says they wanted a strong woman to address the graduates because all the class of 2010’s officers are girls, and the district’s superintendent and school committee chair are both women.
Not just women are excited. Principal Kevin Turner, a Kennedy supporter, says Kennedy’s address is a nice ending for a gifted senior class.
