Samantha Nicole McClendon and David Evan Ragasa, both of Athens, were married in a 6 p.m. ceremony July 17 at Burritt on the Mountain in Huntsville with the Rev. James Bassham officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Charlene and Samuel P. McClendon Jr. of Athens. She is the granddaughter of Charles and Irene Griffin of Dutton and the late Samuel P. and Mildred McClendon.

The groom is the son of Joseph and Susan Ragasa of Athens. He is the grandson of Cliflon and Mildred Green of Athens.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Sam McClendon.

The matron of honor was Mary Vavra, sister of the bride, and the maid of honor was Elise Hicks, friend of the bride. Bridal attendants were Emily Simpson, Heather Simpson and Amanda Maher.

The flower girls were Olivia and Natalie Hankins, nieces of the bride.

Buckley Butler and Blake Whitman served as best men. Groomsmen were David Maher, Scott Ragasa, Dustin Donald and Josh Owensby and ushers were Tyler Crawford, Tom Hicks, Mark Schneider and Jeffrey Hardwick.

Jennifer Louie provided music.

A reception followed the ceremony at Burritt on the Mountain. Plato Jones provided music.

After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple returned home to Prattville.
