Charles “Chuck” Black Sr.
The funeral for Charles “Chuck” Black Sr., 74, of Athens, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Loretto Memorial Chapel in Loretto, Tenn., with Darlene Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Loretto Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-9 tonight at Loretto Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Black died Monday, May 15, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was a native of Wynne, Ark., and was retired from Chrysler Motor Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Kollefrath Black of Athens; two sons, Charles “Chip” Black Jr. and wife Tammi of Athens, and Jeffrey Wayne Black and wife LeeAnn of Ardmore; a sister, Mary Carmack of Tuscumbia; seven grandchildren, and countless friends and loved ones.
E.F. Cagle
The funeral for E.F. Cagle, 86, of Rogersville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home in Athens with Steve Klein and Bill Hall officiating. Burial will be in Civitan Cemetery in Rogersville.
Visitation will be 5-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Cagle died Monday, May 15, 2006, at home.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and was retired as principal of Lauderdale County High School in Rogersville. He was a deacon of the Church of Christ at New Georgia.
Mr. Cagle was preceded in death by a son, David Cagle; his parents, James Alton and Vela Cagle; and a sister, Mildred Blackburn.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Willie T. Goodman Cagle of Rogersville; two sons, Frank Cagle and wife Tracy of Strawberry Plains, Tenn., and Andy Cagle of Florence; a daughter, Susan Maxwell and husband Donald of Rogersville; grandchildren, Josh Cagle, Adam Cagle, Kate Cagle, Carrie Maxwell, Joe Maxwell and wife Kristy, and Andrew Maxwell; two great-granddaughters, Jordon Maxwell and Taylor Maxwell; three brothers, James Cagle and wife Willa Jean, and Eugene Cagle and wife Joyce, all of Rogersville, and Billy Cagle and wife Hazel of Athens; two sisters, Catherine McCartney and husband James of Rogersville, and Shirley Hargrave and husband Ernest of Madison; and one brother-in-law, Harry Blackburn of Florence.
Pallbearers will be Josh Cagle, Adam Cagle, Joe Maxwell, Andrew Maxwell, Larry Sinyard, Roger Howard, Doyce Richardson and Branson Embry. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Cagle’s nephews.
James Darryl Coleman
The funeral for James Darryl Coleman, 41, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lentzville Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Coleman died Sunday, May 14, 2006, at home.
Etalker McGee
The funeral for Etalker McGee, 75, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. today at Spry Funeral Home with Doug McCurry and Wayne Forsythe officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. McGee died Sunday, May 14, 2006, at home.
She was born Jan. 4, 1931 in Limestone County. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, O.C. McGee of Athens; three daughters, Patsy Dollar and Betty Murphy, both of Athens, and Brenda Phillips of Gurley; two sons, Elvie McGee of Athens, and Ollie McGee of Brentwood, Tenn.; two sisters, Margie Coffman and Elizabeth Norwood, both of Athens; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Grandsons will be pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
