The funeral for Kenneth Dewayne Eaton, 70, of Athens will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Spry Funeral Home with Mike McLemore and Greg Lauderback officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

He died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at Princeton Baptist Hospital in Birmingham.

Mr. Eaton retired from Conagra in Decatur after 39 years of service. He was a member of West Highland Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Myrtle Eaton; and brothers, John, Oneal and Curtis Eaton.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Dorothy “Dot” Eaton of Athens; daughter, Teresa Ridgeway and husband Ricky of Elkmont; sons, Tim Eaton and wife Paula, and Troy Eaton and wife Beth, all of Athens; brother, William Eaton and wife Janice of Athens; sisters, Mageline Gibson and husband Richard, and Vera Phinney and husband Bob, all of Athens; grandchildren, Brad Riggs and wife Meghan, Breanna Smith and husband Justin, Tiffinee Eaton and fiancée Cody, Tyler Eaton, Sadie Eaton and Paisley Eaton; great-granddaughter, Kaley Riggs; stepgrandson, Justin Ridgeway; four step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carolyn Eaton of Tanner; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Spike, his dog.

Pallbearers will be Brandon McLemore, Greg Eaton, Eric Eaton, Douglas Eaton, Randy Bailey and Leslie Bailey. There will be 10 honorary pallbearers.
