Franklin Patterson

The funeral for Franklin Patterson, 100, of Anderson will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Anderson with J.D. Harrison officiating and Rogersville Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until time for the service at the church.

Mr. Patterson died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at Limestone Health Facility.

In his earlier years he was a farmer and later retired from Lauderdale County Board of Education as a custodian at Anderson School. He was also a trustee at Anderson School for 12 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Anderson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline McConnell Patterson; a son, James Almon Patterson; five brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by two sons, Farrell Patterson and wife Lisa of Colbert County and W.F. Patterson and wife Jean of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; a daughter, Peggy Hill and husband Stanley of Athens; grandchildren, Dwight Patterson, Perry Patterson, Jennifer Thornton, Melissa Smith, Justin Hill and Andy Wisdom; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Leathel Griffin of Anderson and Mildred Corum of Rogersville.

Pallbearers will be Perry Patterson, Justin Hill, Kenny Patterson, Andy Wisdom, Evan Thornton and Eric Smith.
